Castelsardo, a classic, colorful, seaside Italian town. Enjoy a walk up through the vivid yellows and oranges and emerge at the panorama point of the old fortress (Doria Castle). Afterwards, enjoy lunch with a view and take a long stroll along the old fortress walls at the Castelsardo Gardens, climbing over poppy fields to the transparent blue waters below. This was especially enjoyable as it was quiet and the views were spectacular.
Park near the beach for a nice walk up through the town. Entry to the panoramic viewpoint at the castle was super cheap and as an added bonus there is a historic basket weaving exhibition. If you’re into hand crafts its worth a look. As for the gardens, head north to the city walls for a free and delightful stroll.
